Fritz Hansen Ant Chair. This auction is just for one unit. Conceinved by Danish master Arne Jacobsen in 1952, in an early stage of his tests with press-molded plywood. Its iconic shape, the thin 'ant waist', is the consequence of the material limitations of the time to bend the plywood in two axis, making a design virtue out of necessity. This is the 4-legged version in walnut veneer. This version currently retails over 600€ a piece depending on the country. The chairs are brand new, distributor's stock.
