Published by Ellinika Grammata in 2000, this edition was printed in 900 numbered copies on Fabriano 280 gr paper and is hand-signed by the artist.
A highly collectible publication, bringing together one of the most important Surrealist poets of the 20th century and a major figure of Greek printmaking.

About Paul Éluard
Paul Éluard was one of the founding members of the Surrealist movement and later a prominent political poet associated with the French Communist Party. Known internationally as “the Poet of Freedom,” he wrote powerful clandestine verses during WWII.
In 1949 he visited Greek partisans in the mountains of Gramos—an experience that inspired the poems in Grèce, ma rose de raison, expressing his deep admiration and solidarity with Greece.
About the Artist – Zizi Makri
Zizi Makri studied printmaking under Dimitris Galanis at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Exiled for her political beliefs, she lived in Budapest for decades, creating influential works in printmaking, book illustration, mosaic, and tapestry.
She exhibited in Europe, China, Cuba, Mexico, Cyprus, and the USA, and received major awards including the Munkácsy Prize and Hungary’s top honor for visual arts. Her work is known for its expressive engraving technique and strong humanistic themes.
