Stunning Guere mask with great eye for detail from Ivory Coast.
The Guere, neighbors of the Dan, make masks for similar purposes but usually of a form that is more ``scary`` than Dan masks. They are used for rituals, education and social control and to appear frightening to enemies.
Provenance: Manfred Schäfer, former gallery owner from Ulm, Germany.
Tracking number will be provided. May as well be viewed and picked up in our gallery in Vessem (NL).
