In February–March 1974, for forty days, Christo and Jeanne-Claude wrapped a 250-meter section of Rome’s ancient Aurelian Wall between Via Veneto and Villa Borghese in 10,000 m² of white polypropylene and 33 km of rope. This temporary intervention turned the historic rampart into a monumental fabric sculpture, responding to the Roman light and urban landscape.
