"Le Petit Poucet" - Legend of Little Thumbling Momie - Mummified little boy - 31 cm - 20 cm - 7 cm - Espèces non-CITES - 1
These are the mortal remains of a tiny little boy, someone called it "Le Petit Poucet" (Little Thumbling in English and Pollicino in Italian), from the famous fairy tale written by Charles Perrault in 1697.
Found during the renovation of an ancient mansion in France, the old clothes wrapping the little dried body indeed fit tan antique fashion and the boots could even be the magical "Seven-league boots" or "bottes de sept lieues".
The tiny earthly remains are framed in an elegant wooden gilded frame.
It is anyway a lovely piece to own, truly unique in its evocatiove mood, recalling the fantastic world of the antique European fairy tales of our childhood.
