Brian Auger & The Trinity - 1. Definitely What! (1968) 2. Befour (1970) - Différents titres - Albums LP (plusieurs articles) - Stéréo, Premier pressage - 1968

1. Brian Auger & The Trinity – Definitely What!.. (Polydor – 184 182) made in Germany 1968 original 1st pressing LP | vinyl: NM (mint-) | cover: VG++ (excellent) AI: Brian Auger & The Trinity's Definitely What!.. (1968) is seen as a transitional album, showcasing Auger's fiery Hammond organ and jazz-rock fusion with blues/R&B roots, but often criticized as uneven, with standout tracks like "Red Beans & Rice" contrasting weaker, indulgent, or experimental moments, making it essential for fans but perhaps not for casual listeners, especially compared to later, stronger Trinity efforts. 2. Brian Auger & The Trinity – Befour (RCA Victor – SF 8101) made in UK 1970 original 1st pressing LP | vinyl: NM (mint-) | cover: VG++ (excellent / close to near mint) Quote on the internet: Brian Auger & Trinity’s 1970 album Befour, for Auger’s 84th birthday. This is another killer Brian Auger album. And it’s also one of those albums that features a written description of each song. Its also an album whose mixture of soul, rock, jazz and European classical was a very close forerunner of prog rock and fusion. My favorites include the heavy jazzy funk rock take Sly’s “I Wanna Take You Higher”, the proto prog/fusion interpolation of composer Gabriel Faure’s “Pavane”, the slinky fusion groove of Herbie Hancock’s “Maiden Voyage” and the complex rhythmic odyssey that is the 9+ minute “Listen Here”. Sure this is one of the more experimental and exploratory Brian Auger albums. But we’ll worth all the time you put into it. 2.
