A very RARE and beautiful book..."Northern Spain" written by Edgar T. A. Wigram and published in 1906... Original orange-brown cloth lettered gilt in brown and blocked with a design based on the 'House of Shells' at Salamanca. Top edge gilt, light wear around edges and corners, shelfwear, spine lightly sunned, light stains on boards-see photos. Inside with 75 tissue-guarded colour plates of paintings by Wigram of his cycling tour of Spain with his brother William Ainger Wigram (W.A.W, the W. of the dialog on pages 1-2, author and defender of the Assyrian Christians) to whom the book is dedicated. illustrations in very good condition, text clean. Tanned endpapers, light wear on ffe-see photos. Fold out map in very good condition.Overall very good. Scarce A. & C. Black edition.
