Wilhelm Walter Friedrich Kempff (25 November 1895 – 23 May 1991) was a German pianist, teacher and composer. Although his repertoire included Bach, Mozart, Chopin, Schumann, Liszt and Brahms, Kempff was particularly well known for his interpretations of the music of Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Schubert, recording the complete sonatas of both composers. He is considered to have been one of the chief exponents of the Germanic tradition during the 20th century and one of the greatest pianists of all time. A lesser-known activity of Kempff was composing. He composed for almost every genre and used his own cadenzas for Beethoven's Piano Concertos 1–4. His student İdil Biret has recorded a CD of his piano works. His second symphony premiered in 1929 at the Leipzig Gewandhaus by Wilhelm Furtwängler. He also prepared a number of Bach transcriptions, including the Siciliano from the Flute Sonata in E-flat major, that have been recorded by Kempff and others. His opera Famile Gozzi, a comic work in three acts, was written in 1934. Gustave Marie Victor Fernand Samazeuilh (2 June 1877 – 4 August 1967) was a French composer and writer on music. He produced many piano transcriptions of orchestral works, and also wrote musical biography. Édouard Salabert (1838–1903) was a prominent French music publisher and the founder of the renowned publishing house Éditions Salabert. He founded the publishing house in Paris in 1878. Initially, under his leadership, the company focused primarily on military music and popular light music. After his death in 1903, his son Francis Salabert (1884–1946) took over the business. Francis significantly expanded the repertoire, including chansons, jazz, film scores, and works by important classical composers such as Les Six. Salabert died in December 1946, aged 62, in a plane crash on the approach to Shannon Airport, Ireland. His widow Mica continued to run the business for more than 40 years. Today, the catalog founded by Édouard Salabert is part of the Durand-Salabert-Eschig publishing group, which belongs to the Universal Music Publishing Group. The publishing house remains a central authority for French music literature. #C044 condition: good Look to the pictures! Wir guarantee age and origin !
