Lambayeque, Pérou Terre cuite Animal huaco. 20 cm H. 750 - 1000 après J.-C. licence d'exportation espagnole

Animal huaco -nice piece- Lambayeque, Peru, 750 - 1000 AD Terracotta 20 cm height and 19,5 cm long. Provenance: - Private collection, J. R. (1928 - 2013) Barcelona, formed since 1950 until 2000. Thence by descendent. DOCUMENTS: - Spanish Export License. Condition: Good condition, see photos. This culture developed on the northern coast of Peru, mainly in the current department of Lambayeque, although it extends to the north and south, along more than 200 km of low coastline with easily accessible beaches and a warm climate. The department of Lambayeque is a vast plain crisscrossed by rivers that flow into the sea and grow with the summer rains. By means of molds they created different varieties of ceramic vessels. One of the most represented motifs is the distinctive "winged eye" used to sacralize images. It is applied in the representation of human figures, animals or geographical features, such as hills and waves. This motif is also found on bone, gourd, wood and metal objects, as well as being present in the finest textiles. They buried their dead in the dorsal decubitus position with their heads facing south, in shaft and chamber tombs, with an abundance of offerings and grave goods. In addition, elite tombs have been found around some huacas. An attempt has been made to investigate the beliefs of the Lambayeque from ceramic representations, where the representation of a main god of anthropo-ornithomorphic characteristics with a "winged eye" predominates. There are also other "fantastic" representations that could correspond to minor gods or myths created by this culture, such as characters with headdresses or deformed faces, dragon species or skeletal zoomorphs. Notes: - The piece includes authenticity certificate. - The piece includes Spanish Export License (Passport for European Union). NOT TAXES. - According to Spanish legislation, items sent outside the European Union are subject to export taxes and will be added to the invoice, at the buyer's expense. These export fees are fixed on the final auction price and the tax rate is not applied directly on the total value of the item to be exported, but rather the different percentages by sections are applied to it: - Up to 6,000 euros: 5%. - From 6,001 to 60,000 euros: 10%. This export permit application process can take between 1-2 months maximum. - The seller guarantees that he acquired this piece according to all national and international laws related to the ownership of cultural property.
