A pair of heavily cast metal dishes, each depicting a fierce sinuous dragon 龍 (ryû) thrashing among scrolling clouds 雲 (kumo), in the Komai-style metalwork tradition.
The shallow dishes are raised on short circular feet and richly decorated to the interior with three-clawed dragons, their bodies intricately inlaid with fine metal wire to form detailed scales and swirling clouds. The details are further accented with gold and copper highlights. The underside of the dishes are similarly adorned with delicate cloud patterns.
Signed to the underside: Sômin 相民 (also read Aimin)
