This type of motor, widely used in flip clocks of the 1960s–1970s, regulates time by the stability of the electrical grid frequency, ensuring consistent and reliable operation. The motor directly drives the roller assembly through a mechanical reduction system; contacts are clean and the motor runs smoothly, with no hesitation.
