Rare and fine helmet mask, the face with delicate and fierce features, with an elborate hairdo, a necklace, a long neck ending with a circular base. Nice glossy patina. Africa, Nigeria, Ekoi ethnic group. Height: 27.5 cm. The mask is nicely mounted on a custom bronze stand. Old insect attack around the base, otherwise very good condition. Provenance: old Paris collection, acquired from a specialised dealer in 1982.
