David Bowie - Signed mint Tin Machine debut - LP - Premier pressage - 1989

Ten years ago, our brightest star turned dark. The genius that is David Bowie left us, two days after releasing what turned out to be his final album: Black Star. As a remembrance on offer here: his personal autograph. Not just that, but signed together with his mates, on the debut album of his much-beloved projects: Tin Machine. Bowie gave me the album just before a promo-concert he did in the Amsterdam Paradiso. He told me to ‘give it another try’ as I confessed that I did not really liked the music. That amused him very much. Although I still do not like the album, I have, of course, cherished it all those years, keeping it well protected. Which also means it is absolutely mint, perfectly undamaged, no scratch wear, blemish or whatsoever. This is not the only Bowie autograph going around. But what sets it apart from all those others: this one is genuine, no fake. I saw him signing it. But you do not have to take my word for it. If you read this, it means it has passed the scrutiny of the famed Catawiki expertise. And there is a world authority on Bowie signatures. Did you know that? A mister Andy Peters. Check davidbowieautograph@mail.com and be amazed. He saw this album and described it as “a beautiful example of an authentic signature”. That mail will of course be included in the sale and mr. Peters agreed to being open for re-evaluating if it is necessary. Bowie-fans are used to surprises, but Tin Machine was a big one. A punk band? After the strange Glass Spider tour and the disappointing Never let me down album, Bowie felt he had lost his musical feel. During the tour he became friends with guitaplaying Reeves Gabrels. The noisy work of Gabrels led to a reconnection with Hunt and Tony Sales, the rhythm-brothers Bowie played with on the Idiot-tour of Iggy. Suddenly he was in a band again and felt rejuvenated. The music was unlike any Bowie before. Loud! Noisy! I had the honor of an interview and David asked me if I liked his new material. ‘Not really’, I admitted, ‘It sounds like a lot of racket.” He laughed. “That is exactly what my mum said of my first records.” Later that day the band did a concert in the Amsterdam Paradiso, as part of the promo tour. That consisted of twelve shows in six countries, only in venues with a capacity of less than 2000. For hundred guests there was an afterparty with the band in the upper bar. There they signed my record. Yours to have. The album is the debut. The band would release only two records and a live album. This is the first. Twelve songs, and you are warned: loud. Check the pictures, it is in amazing condition. As I confessed, I did not really like the music, so it is never played. I will add new inner and outer protective sleeves. Be advised, this item is unique. Please, serious bids only. It will be preciously packed and swiftly send by registered and insured mail. You will have to sign for this, we do not want to lose it in the mail. Check my reviews. Will you shelve this album in the vault or put it on the wall? EMI records, 064 7 91990, Germany, 1989. First pressed. Original orange inner sleeve included. Plus four signatures!
