ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This artwork presents the owl as a figure of silent authority and nocturnal intelligence. Far from a decorative animal portrait, Le Hibou confronts the viewer with a steady, unblinking gaze — one that observes without judgment, yet misses nothing.
The composition is deliberately tight, almost claustrophobic. The owl’s face fills the space, leaving no escape from its watchful presence. This proximity creates tension: the viewer is no longer observing the animal — they are being observed.
The layered stencil work fragments the feathers into sharp, directional strokes, evoking vigilance, precision, and restraint. The green, mineral-toned background reinforces a sense of night, forest depth, and ancient knowledge. It feels organic, raw, almost primal.
Traditionally associated with wisdom, intuition, and the unseen, the owl here becomes a symbol of awareness and patience — power without noise, strength without movement. Le Hibou is about seeing clearly in darkness, about control through stillness, and about dominance expressed through silence.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
I am a French stencil artist whose work explores contrast — between instinct and precision, chaos and control, heritage and contemporary expression. My practice combines spontaneous, textured backgrounds with meticulously hand-cut multi-layer stencils.
I have exhibited alongside major figures of the urban art scene such as L’Atlas, C215, Carole B, Wawapod, and Jo Di Bona at the SPERA ART FAIR.
My work has been collected throughout Europe, with more than 300 artworks sold internationally.
I also create live painting performances for major institutions and brands, including Disneyland Paris.
Each artwork is a unique original. While stencils may be reused, every background is created instinctively, ensuring that no two works are ever identical. My approach revisits iconic figures and symbols through emotional tension, restraint, and visual impact.
