Rare Meissen studio stoneware teapot, produced at the Meissen manufactory (Sörnewitz–Meissen, Germany) during the interwar period, circa 1927–1935. The piece represents an early modernist design influenced by Bauhaus and Art Deco aesthetics, with a hand-painted abstract decoration in earthy tones (decor no. 1890). Made of glazed studio stoneware, hand-decorated, with impressed form number 742. Marked on the base with the printed factory mark “MEISSEN / HANDGEMALT / 1890”. A well-documented Meissen studio design, created outside the traditional porcelain production and intended for the progressive art and design market of the early 20th century. Condition: good vintage condition overall. Minor glaze and edge wear to the spout, consistent with age and use, clearly visible in the photographs.
