Enzo Mari - Danese Milano - Uno, La Mela (1963)

This Silkscreen art print ''Uno, La Mela'' was originally designed by Enzo Mari in 1963. The print is part of the ''La Serie della Natura'' (Nature series). La Serie della Natura comes from research to transform an image into a symbol through a planned reduction which tends to eliminate the superfluous in factor of meaning, in the optical realization of art multiples. From 1961 to 1976 Mari designs products with 17 symbols of silkscreens texiline. Mari started to work on the subjects that make up this series in 1957: in the same year he saw the first version of the ''Gioco Delle Favole'', that Danese would put into production in 1965. It became one of Danese production's symbols, this series is one of those few examples that reach the object of creating, for home environment, an artistic idea built on a concept of seriality. It does not exist as an original object, for this kind of work, this is because the final image was obtained after long technical processing on series. Mari looks for shape and techniques of representation, a sort of ''super icona''. La Mela is not an apple but The Apple. This Silkscreen Art Print is in a new and unused condition. With original packaging and documentation. About Danese Milano: Danese Milano is an iconic Italian design brand founded in 1957 by Bruno Danese, designer and entrepreneur with his wife Jacqueline Vodoz. The brand is renowned for its collaborations with influential designers who shaped contemporary design. Pioneers like Bruno Munari, Achille Castiglioni, Ettore Sottsass (of Memphis Milano fame), Vico Magistretti, Michele De Lucchi, and Angelo Mangiarotti contributed to its legacy, blending functionality with avant-garde aesthetics. Danese Milano's designs sit alongside works from celebrated brands like Vitra, Flos, Foscarini, B&B Italia, and Cassina, known for their innovative approaches. The objects of Danese often blend in with many widely known design objects since the brand is heavily Influenced by design legends such as Arne Jacobsen, Eames, Gio Ponti, and Hans Wegne. Additionally, the work of Fritz Hansen, Poul Henningsen, Finn Juhl, Jean Prouvé, and Isamu Noguchi also resonates within the brand and the designers it cooperates with, reflecting both postmodern and contemporary design sensibilities. Reminiscent of Rietveld's architectural purity and the modernist ideals that define the industry's greatest names. About the designer: Enzo Mari (1932 - 2020) was an Italian modernist artist and furniture designer who is known to have influenced many generations of industrial designers. One of the most famous Italian designers ever lived. He started his activity with studies on visual perception and then focused his attention on games for children, graphics, design and architecture. He was awarded the Compasso d'Oro in 1967, 1979, 1987 and in 2001 for his table Tavolo legato. In 2001 he published the book Progetto e passione (Project and passion) which analyses the design on a wider cultural horizon. Mari is the author of over 1500 objects, made for major Italian companies. Among these, there are Zanotta, Driade, Alessi, Danese, Artemide, Olivetti, Ideal Standard, Flou, Estel, Lema and Robots. Enzo Mari died on 19 October 2020, at the age of 88, and became, together with his wife, a victim of the corona pandemic. #dopamine
