ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This artwork reinterprets Dionysos, the ancient Greek god of wine, ecstasy, excess, and transformation. Far from a festive caricature, this depiction embraces the darker, more complex duality of the figure — the god who embodies both pleasure and chaos, creation and loss of control.
The raised arm holding grapes becomes a powerful symbol of abundance, intoxication, and temptation. It is an offering as much as a provocation. Dionysos here is not celebrating — he is confronting the viewer with desire, instinct, and surrender.
The fragmented stencil lines carve the body with tension and raw energy, while the textured background evokes organic matter, fermentation, and decay. Warm, earthy tones recall wine, flesh, and soil — reinforcing the idea of a god rooted in the visceral and the irrational.
This Dionysos stands at the edge between control and abandon. Strength is present, but unstable. Beauty exists, but is charged with danger. The artwork invites the viewer to reflect on excess, freedom, and the thin line separating liberation from self-destruction.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
I am a French stencil artist whose work explores contrast — between instinct and precision, chaos and control, heritage and contemporary expression. My practice combines spontaneous, textured backgrounds with meticulously hand-cut multi-layer stencils.
I have exhibited alongside major figures of the urban art scene such as L’Atlas, C215, Carole B, Wawapod, and Jo Di Bona at the SPERA ART FAIR.
My work has been collected throughout Europe, with more than 300 artworks sold internationally.
I also create live painting performances for major institutions and brands, including Disneyland Paris.
Each artwork is a unique original. While stencils may be reused, every background is created instinctively, ensuring that no two works are ever identical. My approach revisits iconic figures through emotional tension, restraint, and symbolic power.
