Wiskemann Art Deco Silver-Plated Tea and Coffee Set, Belgian Maker, 1930s
A refined Art Deco tea and coffee set by the renowned Belgian silversmith Wiskemann, active in the 20th century. Recognizable for its pure lines, elegant geometric shapes, and smooth reflective surfaces, this set showcases the high-quality electroplated silver technique for which Wiskemann was particularly famous.
Composition (approximate dimensions):
Large teapot: 18 cm height × 14 cm width
Small teapot (or water pot): 13 cm height × 9 cm width
Milk jug: 8 cm height × 7 cm diameter — shows some oxidation inside, and the handle is slightly fragile, though this does not affect use
Sugar pot: 11 cm height × 7 cm diameter
Bowl: 12 cm height × 5 cm diameter
Coffee pot: 14 cm height × 9 cm diameter
The set is in overall very good condition, with minor signs of wear consistent with age.
Historical note: Founded in Brussels in 1872 by Otto-Léonard Wiskemann, the Wiskemann house became renowned for its high-quality silver plating and clean, Art Deco-inspired designs of the 1930s.
A rare and elegant complete set, characteristic of Belgian Art Deco silverware.
