The book is beautifully and colourfully illustrated with 49 single-sided tissue-guarded coloured plates on coated paper, including tissue-guarded frontispiece, by Aubrey Waterfield, 31 reproductions of paintings and sculpture, and 67 in-text illustrations. Text by St. Clair Braddeley and Lina Duff Gordon. Published by J. M. Dent & Co., London, 1904. Publisher’s original richly decorated red cloth boards, with design of Eagle, and lettering on upper board and spine. Book Dimensions: 23 x 17 cm and Number of Pages: 384 including appendix and index Weight over 1.5 kg unpackaged Condition The book is beautifully bound, designed and illustrated. Firm, and well bound. External covers in nice shape, with light wear to corners, and to head and foot of spine. Internally the book is in very good condition. No names or inscriptions. Spotting to prelims but text is very clean, and unmarked. Inner hinges are very good, and pages are tightly held at gutters. The attractive illustrations make this a truly beautiful book (Please see pictures).
