Canne de marche - Bois, Cuivre, Verre - Bouteille en verre cachée

Antique Walking Cane with Copper Screw-Top Handle and Sectioned Shaft – Late 19th / Early 20th Century An elegant antique walking cane featuring a refined copper screw-top handle with finely reeded decoration, displaying a warm, naturally aged patina. The handle unscrews to reveal an internal threaded fitting, a characteristic feature of quality canes produced during the late Victorian and Edwardian period. The shaft is crafted from polished hardwood with a rich honey-brown tone and has been professionally restored, resulting in a smooth, well-finished surface while retaining an appearance appropriate to the age of the piece. The cane is constructed in sections, joined by metal collars, reflecting both functional design and restrained decorative taste typical of the period. The base is fitted with a shaped rubber ferrule, showing wear consistent with age and use. Measuring approximately 91 cm in length, the cane corresponds to standard proportions typically encountered in period walking sticks and would have been suitable for everyday use. Overall, this is a tasteful antique walking cane, now best suited as a decorative or collection piece, and offered as an example of late 19th to early 20th-century craftsmanship with condition and restoration transparently described. Please note that a visible longitudinal split is present in the wooden shaft near one of the joints, as shown clearly in the photographs. This condition issue has been fully disclosed and should be taken into consideration. Good antique condition overall; the shaft has been restored but shows a visible split near a joint; the copper handle and fittings display wear and patina consistent with age and use.
