This armchair is crafted from solid oak and features elegantly turned baluster legs, connected by a matching stretcher, giving the chair excellent stability. The seat consists of an original hand-woven rush (seagrass) seat, still in good and usable condition. The open back is designed with gently curved vertical splats and a rounded top rail, showing subtle hand-finished details typical of late 19th-century craftsmanship. The chair is constructed using traditional mortise-and-tenon joints, without modern screws. The oak shows a warm natural patina with honest signs of age and use, consistent with its period.
