ABOUT THE ARTWORK
“Grogu (Baby Yoda)” captures innocence balanced with quiet strength.
In this composition, I chose a dual portrait structure: the calm, grounded presence of the Mandalorian helmet beneath, contrasted with Grogu’s wide, expressive gaze above. The piece plays with protection and vulnerability — armor and sensitivity coexisting in a single visual narrative.
Using my double-layer stencil technique, every detail was digitally designed and meticulously hand-cut before being applied with spray paint. The sharp contrasts sculpt both metallic surfaces and delicate facial features, creating depth and visual tension.
The textured grey mineral background was created instinctively, evoking stone, dust and interstellar atmosphere while maintaining a contemporary urban aesthetic. The spontaneity of the surface contrasts with the precision of the stencil work — a core principle of my artistic identity.
This artwork is an original, one-of-a-kind piece. While the stencil may reappear in future explorations, each background remains unique, ensuring singularity and authenticity.

Alexandre Petrus is a French stencil artist working at the crossroads of street art, digital creation and traditional craftsmanship. Based in the South of France, he designs his stencils digitally before printing and hand-cutting them with extreme precision.
His artistic philosophy is built around “originality in repetition”: the stencil may return, but the background is always spontaneous and unique. This dialogue between control and instinct defines his visual signature.
