ABOUT THE ARTWORK
“Bob Marley” captures the vibration of freedom, peace and inner strength.
Rather than depicting a performance moment, I focused on expression — that radiant smile that carries both serenity and resistance. The upward tilt of the head reinforces the feeling of elevation, lightness and spiritual presence. This is more than a portrait; it is an atmosphere.
Through my double-layer stencil technique, I sculpted the face using strong contrasts and layered shadows. Every line was digitally designed and meticulously hand-cut before being applied with spray paint. The precision of the stencil meets the instinctive texture of the background, creating depth and contemporary energy.
The turquoise and blue abstract background evokes ocean, sky and vibration — elements closely associated with rhythm and freedom. The cool palette enhances the emotional intensity while preserving the graphic impact.

Alexandre Petrus is a French stencil artist working at the crossroads of street art, digital creation and traditional craftsmanship. Based in the South of France, he designs his stencils digitally before printing and hand-cutting them with extreme precision.
His artistic philosophy is built around “originality in repetition”: the stencil may return, but the background is always spontaneous and unique. This dialogue between control and instinct defines his visual signature.
He has created large-scale murals across France and performs live paintings for weddings and corporate events, bringing urban art energy into both public and private spaces.
