VERY BEAUTIFUL, EARLY, BIG-FORMAT BOOK from 1990 (!) about "Morocco" by famous Magnum photographer Harry Gruyaert - WITH COMPLETE ORIGINAL DUSTJACKET.
TRUE FIRST ORIGINAL GERMAN PRINTING (not to mix with the same-named edition from 2024).
VERY SCARCE.

Hardcover with dustjacket. 330 x 305 mm. 112 pages. 52 colour photographs. Photos: Harry Gruyaert. Layout: Florene Miailhe. Text: Harry Gruyaert, Brice Batthieussent. Translation from French into German: Bruni Maier. Text in German.
Condition:
Book inside with no foxing, with previous owner mark at the bottom right corner of the first title page, no other remarkable flaws or defects. Book outside very well-preserved (protected by the jacket). Dustjacket quite fresh and complete with no tears, with no taped tears and with no missing parts; front and spine fresh with no remarkable flaws or defects, at the top of the rear side with some trace of use. Overall fine condition.

"Born in Belgium in 1941, Harry Gruyaert studied photography and film-making. He made a few films as director of photography for Flemish television before turning to color photographs in his adopted Paris in the early 1960s.
By the end of the 1970s he had travelled to the United States, India, Egypt, Japan and Morocco. The latter was a revelation to Gruyaert whose images of the country were later published in two different books. In the early 1970s, while he was living in London, he worked on a series of color television screen shots later to become the TV Shots now part of the Centre Pompidou collections. Around the same period he also photographed his homeland and produced two books, Made in Belgium and Roots."
