ABOUT THE ARTWORK
“L’Oiseau” is a minimalist tribute to freedom and quiet strength.
Perched on a branch, the bird stands still yet alert — a suspended moment between rest and flight. I deliberately chose a restrained grey palette to emphasize subtlety, texture and depth rather than color intensity. The calm background allows the viewer to focus on the delicate details of the feathers and posture.
Created using my double-layer stencil technique, each shape was digitally designed and then carefully hand-cut before being applied with spray paint and acrylic. The layering of blacks, whites and soft greys creates contrast while preserving softness and nuance.
The textured background was built instinctively, giving the surface a mineral, almost stone-like atmosphere. This contrast between precision (the stencil) and spontaneity (the background) reflects the core of my artistic approach.
A small format, yet a strong presence — a contemplative piece that speaks about balance, observation and inner freedom.
This is a unique, original artwork. Even if the stencil may reappear in future works, each background remains entirely one of a kind.

Alexandre Petrus is a French stencil artist working between street art, digital creation and traditional craftsmanship. He designs his stencils digitally before printing and hand-cutting each layer with precision.
His work is based on the dialogue between instinct and control. The stencil represents structure and mastery, while the background is spontaneous and expressive. This philosophy defines what he calls “originality in repetition.”
He has created murals across France and performs live painting for weddings and corporate events, bringing urban art energy into both public and private spaces.
