Epée - Acier - Japon - Fin de la période Edo

Newly arrived is a wonderful dagger accompanied by a wooden box for storage as well as a certificate of authenticity from NBTHK. The sword is in very good condition with no faults such as flaws, rust, or chips. The jigane is itame hada and overall niedeki. The hamon is a practical, thin suguha that is both tense and elegant. The nakago is engraved with the inscription “Naoyuki” on the front and “Senshu Banzairaku” on the back. Naoyuki was a swordsmith of the Dotanuki school that flourished in the Higo region of Kyushu and was active at the end of the Edo period.  "Senshu Banzairaku” means a celebration of longevity and prosperity, and this dagger set was made as a celebratory gift for good fortune; in 2022, the Society for Preservation of Japanese Art Swords recognized the hozon and issued a certificate for it as a work worthy of preservation for future generations. The koshirae is equipped with two types of koshirae: shirasaya and tanto koshirae. The tanto koshirae has fine kizami applied to the tsuka and part of the saya. The Saya is lacquered with a textured tame-nuri finish and decorative metal fittings. This dagger set is a very auspicious piece and comes with a box for storage, so it is truly a prized piece that will be passed down from generation to generation. Get it now as your family heirloom.
