ABOUT THE ARTWORK
“Dali” is a tribute to one of the most iconic figures of surrealism.
Salvador Dalí remains one of the most recognizable artists in art history, known for his eccentric personality, visionary imagination and instantly identifiable mustache. In this portrait, the focus is placed on his intense gaze and expressive facial features, capturing both his brilliance and his theatrical character.
The vibrant orange background creates a striking contrast with the stencil, reinforcing the bold and unconventional spirit associated with Dalí. The textured layers were applied instinctively, producing a dynamic surface that enhances the graphic clarity of the portrait.
The image was created using my double-layer stencil technique. The composition was first digitally designed and then carefully hand-cut before being applied with spray paint and acrylic. This method allows sharp contrasts and precise lines while preserving the energy and spontaneity of the painted background.
Through this piece, classical art history meets contemporary street art, transforming the face of a legendary painter into a modern urban icon.
