ABOUT THE ARTWORK
“Frida Kahlo” is a tribute to one of the most iconic and influential figures in art history — a symbol of strength, resilience and artistic identity.
This portrait captures an intimate and thoughtful expression, highlighting both the intensity and sensitivity that defined Frida Kahlo. Her gaze, slightly turned, suggests introspection, while the detailed rendering of her features brings a strong emotional presence to the composition.
The textured background, composed of deep turquoise tones with subtle red accents, creates a vibrant contrast that enhances the portrait’s depth and energy. These colors echo both her Mexican heritage and the emotional richness often associated with her work.
Created using my signature double-layer stencil technique, the artwork was first digitally designed and then meticulously hand-cut before being applied with spray paint and acrylic. This process allows for sharp precision in the portrait while preserving the raw, expressive character of the background.
By reinterpreting a historical figure through a contemporary street art aesthetic, the piece creates a bridge between classical art heritage and modern visual culture.
This is a unique, original artwork. Even if the stencil may be reused in future works, each background remains entirely one of a kind.
