ABOUT THE ARTWORK
“Le Renard” explores the duality between instinct and environment, blending the presence of a wild animal with subtle architectural elements.
The fox, known for its intelligence and adaptability, is depicted here in a calm and observant posture. Its gaze suggests awareness and quiet control, embodying both curiosity and strategy. The detailed stencil work captures the richness of its fur, creating movement and texture through layered cuts and contrasts.
Within the composition, a delicate architectural silhouette emerges — a structure that evokes a village or a place of human presence. This element creates an unexpected dialogue between nature and civilization, suggesting coexistence, intrusion, or memory.
The background is built through instinctive gestures, combining shades of turquoise, blue and mineral tones. The textured surface, enriched with splashes of color, adds depth and energy while enhancing the contrast with the precision of the stencil.
Created using my signature double-layer stencil technique, the artwork was first digitally designed, then carefully hand-cut before being applied with spray paint and acrylic. This process allows for a high level of detail while preserving the spontaneity of the painted background.
