Rare large statue of a Wayang Golek figure – Indonesia, circa 1930
This is not a standard puppet, but an impressive and unusually large Wayang Golek mounted on a heavy wooden stand. The finely carved head is beautifully executed in rich polychrome colors, while the body is made of solid, heavy-quality wood.
The statue is exceptionally tall and well made, making it a striking and highly decorative piece.
Dimensions: approx. 110 cm in height and 30 cm in width.
A truly rare object, acquired many years ago by the previous owner from the former Museum Nusantara in Delft at the time of its closure.
The piece will be carefully packaged and shipped insured.
