Abdullah at-Khadim - Qur'an - Sultinate India - 1616

This fine quality manuscript leaf from the Holy book scribed by Abdullah at-Khadim in AD1616. The folio contains scripture from Verses 99-101 of Surah Al-An'am (Chapter 6) which focus on the themes of Allah's creative power, the evidence of His existence in nature, and the absolute oneness (Tawhid) of God, refuting polytheism and the concept of God having children. The scripture condemns the ignorance of people who invent partners, sons, or daughters for Allah, declaring that He is "Holy and Exalted far above" such fabrications. The key theme is that of Tawhid (Oneness): Allah is the sole Creator and Creator of everything and His knowledge covers all things. A number of different sized scripts are within the bands, alternated fro decorative effect, using large Thuluth and smaller Naskhi in between the thick bands. The elaborate marginal illumination (tasrih), lower left of the folio, marks the 100th divisions of the chapter. The word within this appears to translate to "love" or "passion". Please note that shipping costs are not solely the cost of the postal delivery service itself. Included within the shipping price is the work undertaken to prepare the article, for photography, for uploading to Catawiki, for preparation and packaging the article securely and for transporting the article to the postal delivery agent for processing. Also, please consider when bidding on this lot that this artwork is shipped from the UK. Import duties will now have to be paid by the recipient to the Postal Service when the parcel arrives in your country. This will likely vary between 5% and 20% of the sale price depending on your country's Import Rate, so please check this if you are concerned. This is a Tax collected on behalf of your Government and is not an additional fee charged by us.
