The stand is crafted in turned wood and retains its original brass meridian ring, along with a beautifully preserved horizon ring. The horizon ring is decorated with compass directions, zodiac signs, month representations, and celestial imagery, making it both scientifically functional and visually striking. Such stands were designed to support high-quality table globes and are today increasingly rare, especially when surviving with both the meridian and horizon rings intact.
