ABOUT THE ARTWORK
“Le Cerf” embodies quiet strength and natural nobility, captured in a scene suspended between wilderness and contemplation.
The stag stands majestically at the heart of a wild landscape, surrounded by a dense and silent forest. Its posture, both proud and calm, reflects a form of natural authority — not aggressive, but deeply commanding and respected.
The composition plays with depth: in the background, subtle silhouettes of other deer emerge, reinforcing the idea of territory, community and the balance of nature.
The warm, earthy tones — blending ochres, browns and golden nuances — create an organic atmosphere, as if the animal and its environment were one. This palette strengthens the sense of grounding and connection to the earth.
The contrast between dark areas and lighter stencil cuts allows the intricate details of the fur and antlers to stand out, while maintaining a strong visual harmony.
As in all my work, this piece is built on the balance between control and spontaneity. The subject is meticulously crafted through a hand-cut stencil, while the background is created instinctively with textures and free gestures, making each piece truly unique.
Created using my signature double-layer stencil technique, the artwork is digitally designed, then entirely hand-cut before being painted with spray paint and acrylic.
