Bamana Figurine (Mali - region of Koulikaro). Decorative Korèdugaso Horse Form. During the meetings of the Korè secret confraternity, it was placed in the centre, to serve as model of noble behaviour, strength and perseverance.

Smaller caricatures of Korèdugaso horses are made with a horse head on a stick representing the body. Members of the Korè confraternity used it as a puppet, to mock or insult other members of the tribe (even high-ranked ones). This magnificent and imposing item has a total height of 80 cm and weighs 3 kilograms. It will be delivered without the stand.
Condition: perfect, without trace of wear nor damage.
