ABOUT THE ARTWORK
“Paint Lovers” is a poetic and slightly rebellious interpretation of childhood, creativity and emotional expression.
The scene captures a simple yet powerful moment: a child painting a heart on a wall, while another watches. This gesture, often seen as an act of vandalism, is here reinterpreted as something deeply human — the need to express, to feel, and to share emotion.
The dripping heart becomes a central symbol. It is not clean or controlled — it bleeds, it flows — echoing the raw nature of feelings. In this piece, painting becomes a language, and the wall becomes a space of emotional release.
The composition plays with movement and contrast. The dynamic strokes and scattered fragments in the background create a sense of energy and spontaneity, while the stencil work brings precision and structure to the characters.
As always in my work, the stencil is entirely hand-cut. Each line is carefully designed to capture posture, emotion and interaction between the figures. The layering of tones creates depth while keeping a strong graphic identity.
This artwork also subtly questions the way society frames creativity. What is considered destruction in one context can be seen as creation in another. “Paint Lovers” stands right at that intersection.
It is a piece about innocence, connection, and the instinctive need to leave a mark.
