Magnifique masque decoratif Mahou en bois représentant un calao, provenant du peuple Dan de Côte d'Ivoire. Le calao occupe une place centrale dans la mythologie ancestrale des Dan. Contrairement aux groupes Dan du nord (Kono, Kpelle, Mano, etc.) qui représentent cet oiseau mythique par un masque de type Mahou avec un bec, Dan utilise ce type de masque à long bec comme protection contre la sorcellerie.
