This Japanese-made version featured an alder body, a maple neck with a 12-inch radius, and Bloodline JP-1 single-coil pickups, earning the guitar a spot in Guitar Player Magazine's Hall of Fame. In 2021, production of the Ashburn and other John Page Classic models moved from Japan to the USA, where they are now handcrafted and backed by a Lifetime Performance Guarantee. The original Japanese models remain highly regarded for their Super Strat-style ergonomics, such as the threaded machine-bolt neck assembly for superior tone transfer and reverse-slanted bridge pickups for a smoother treble response.
