Ce masque africain Dan présente des caractéristiques classiques dont la face assez plane avec un front bombé, des yeux béants circulaires, grands ouverts et une petite bouche lippue protubérante.
Ici, l'imposante coiffe en corde qui accompagne le danseur est encore présente.
Afin d'appuyer le regard circonspect du masque, une bande de tissu rouge enveloppe les yeux.
Le groupe ethnique Dan est installé dans l'extrême Ouest de la Côte d'Ivoire, juste à côté de la frontière avec la Guinée et avec le Libéria.
