Born in Bologna, Italy, Silvano Samaroli, the founder of the house, began his activity in 1968 by selecting and bottling some of the finest whiskies in the world. At the beginning, he was the only independent bottler who was not British. In the 1990s, Samaroli added rum to his selection: he traveled in search of the finest distilleries and brought the casks back to Scotland, where the climate allows for slower aging, synonymous with finesse and elegance. But the work does not stop there, as Samaroli also continues research into blending, combining the flavors of aged spirits with the power of younger ones to recreate the “soul of whisky.” This includes re-casking whiskies or rums into new barrels to give them an incomparable depth compared to classic single malts. It is a unique approach—the one that created the Samaroli legend. At the same time, exceptional casks continue to be offered as “Single Cask.” Samaroli offers single malt whiskies and single cask rums selected for their outstanding character.
