Description de l'article
A vintage manual pencil sharpener, model HS-102, manufactured by Mitsubishi Pencil Co., Ltd. in Japan during the Showa era. Sourced from a Japanese stationery shop's deadstock, this piece shows no signs of use.
The design reflects the bold, optimistic aesthetic of mid-20th century Japanese industrial design — the vivid red body with cream-white accents and a chrome-framed front panel evoke the space-age futurism of the era. The pencil insertion opening is framed by a beautifully machined concentric-ring chrome bezel, reminiscent of a camera lens, giving the sharpener a sculptural presence on any desk.
The transparent smoke-grey shaving collection drawer slides out from the front, and sturdy rubber feet keep the unit stable during use. The rear of the body is embossed with the model number (HS-102) and the manufacturer's name, confirming its authentic Japanese origin.
A fine collector's piece as well as a functional desk item, well-suited to any collection of vintage Japanese stationery, mid-century design, or Showa-era industrial objects.
