From the series "The Golden Imprint" (2015).
Photo size: 30 x 45 cm
Paper size: 32 x 47 cm
Vietnamese woman in the imperial-inspired traditional dress with a modern touch. This photograph is from the series "The Golden Imprint" (2015) that was featured on Vietnam Television. The dress was inspired by the phoenix and motifs on ancient Dong Son bronze drums of Vietnam and therefore painted most charmingly pictures of Vietnamese tradition and art. The golden color is very symbolic of power and royalty in the Vietnamese culture, in the past, up to the XX century, only the emperors and their families were allowed to wear them.
Published on PhotoVogue of Vogue Italia, Hedonist Magazine London, Solis Magazine New York, Singulart Magazine Paris, art publications by art critics, over 20 Vietnamese fashion and lifestyle magazines, amongst others.
The photo is printed on Hahnemuhle William Turner 310 gsm paper, a premium quality fine art paper which delivers accurate and vibrant colors in print as you see onscreen and also gives a touch of classic painting to the photo.
Comes with signed & numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Also artist signature at the back of the photo.
This work is released as an Artist Studio Edition, created specifically for the auction format. It offers collectors a unique opportunity to acquire a signed work directly from the artist’s studio - a limited edition made available exclusively through Catawiki.

ART CRITIC:
Through her series “The Golden Imprint”, Viet Ha Tran allows us to see the spectacular details, ‘the scenes’ are rich in colors and baroque architectural details.
There is a deeper meaning going beyond the view of extremely elegant, unearthly beautiful women, goddesses standing still in the temple, that have the power to make time stand still. Their faces and body carry deep, transcendent emotions, erotic sadness, contemplation on something ‘higher’ than ‘here’ and ‘now’.”
The golden imprint on the beautiful dress on the photography by Viet Ha Tran will offer you more (apart from the obvious, aesthetic delight) if you look at it with certain knowledge of Vietnamese tradition, history, maturity, curiosity and sensitivity.
