Viking Iron Spearhead 9th–11th century A.D. Authentic Viking iron spearhead featuring a long, slender leaf-shaped blade with tapering point and integral socket for mounting onto a wooden shaft. The elegant profile and narrow proportions are characteristic of Scandinavian and Northern European spear forms used during the Viking period. Hand-forged from iron, the spearhead displays visible hammer-work and an uneven forged surface beneath a dark excavated patina. Areas of oxidation, pitting, and mineralization are consistent with considerable age and burial conditions. Condition: excavated condition with stable corrosion, age wear, and surface pitting; intact form with strong display presence. Length 28 cm. Provenance: North German collection, 1980s-1990s.
