Vase - Cuivre - Japon (Sans prix de réserve)
This copper *ichirin-zashi*featuring the Imperial Chrysanthemum emblem is a quintessential masterpiece of Takaoka copperware craftsmanship. The body of the vase is adorned with the sixteen-petal, double-layered chrysanthemum—the exclusive crest of the Japanese Imperial Family.
Crafted from a copper base, the vase features a blue glaze embellished with gold speckles, creating a surface effect where deep blue and shimmering gold intertwine, reminiscent of a starry night sky. The lower section of the vessel is decorated with hand-painted gold motifs depicting mountain ranges, offering a harmonious visual counterpoint to the Imperial Chrysanthemum above. The vase takes the form of a "crane-neck" bottle—characterized by a long, slender neck and gracefully sloping shoulders—and serves as a specialized vessel traditionally used in Japanese *Ikebana* for the display of a single blossom.
