Art Nouveau Brass Inkstand with Crystal Inkwell — Jugendstil, Geschützt, c.1900
Elegant Art Nouveau brass pen tray and inkwell, Germany or Austria-Hungary, circa 1900–1910. The brass tray features high-relief naturalistic decoration with iris flowers and flowing stems in the Jugendstil manner, with characteristic sinuous handles at each end. The piece bears the stamped mark GESCHÜTZT (German registered design) on the underside, confirming it as a protected original design of the period.
The accompanying inkwell is formed from a faceted clear crystal block with a hinged silver-toned metal lid in organic floral form — the hinge mechanism remains fully functional.
