Bocal - Porcelaine - bocal de glaçage GE

Chinese Ge-Glazed “Taibai” Jar, Qianlong Period (1736–1795), Qing Dynasty A refined Chinese Ge-glazed porcelain jar, commonly known as a “Taibai Jar”, dating to the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty (1736–1795). The vessel is covered in a beautiful creamy-white glaze with an exceptionally fine and naturally developed crackle network across the entire surface. The crackles have matured gracefully over centuries, creating a subtle and highly attractive pattern characteristic of quality Ge-type wares. The glaze is rich, lustrous, and silky to the touch, demonstrating the high level of craftsmanship associated with Qing imperial taste. The elegant rounded body, short neck, and carefully finished foot reflect the balanced proportions and meticulous potting of the period. The exposed footrim is neatly trimmed, revealing the fine porcelain body beneath. Traditionally referred to as a “Taibai Jar”, this understated yet sophisticated form was appreciated for its harmonious shape and the quiet beauty of its glaze rather than painted decoration. Dimensions * Height: 11.3 cm * Weight: 328 g Condition The jar is in excellent antique condition with no visible cracks, chips, or repairs. The glaze remains bright and attractive throughout. There is a small firing hole to the base, which is part of the manufacturing process and should not be considered damage. A highly decorative and collectible example of Qing Dynasty Ge-type porcelain, displaying the timeless elegance and subtle beauty that have made crackle-glazed wares admired by collectors for centuries.
