ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Perseus and Medusa — the moment after the legend. The hero with his winged helmet, the Gorgon's severed head held at arm's length, her serpents still alive. One of the founding myths of Western imagination: the impossible victory, achieved not through brute strength but through cunning and the right tools. Painted in oxidized teal and burnt orange — the colors of patinated bronze, as if the scene had been carved into a temple wall centuries ago. A statement piece for collectors drawn to mythology, transformation, and stories that have outlived every empire that told them.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Alexandre Petrus is a French stencil artist with a strong and instantly recognizable visual identity. His signature technique — the hand-cut double-layer stencil — separates light and shadow into two distinct stencils, layered onto a spontaneous, hand-painted abstract background. The result: a sharp, iconic figure rising from a vibrant, textured chaos of color.
To date, more than 450 of his original artworks have found their way into private collections across 10+ countries, from France and Spain to the Netherlands, Germany, the UAE, and the US. He has performed live painting for major French institutions including Disneyland Paris, created large-scale murals for corporate headquarters, and exhibited in several French street art festivals (Grimaud, Perpignan, Venelle). His work is currently shown at Galerie Spot 72 in Le Mans.
His subjects move between mythology, pop culture icons, wildlife and emotionally charged scenes. Whatever the theme, the signature remains: precise stencil work, instinctive background, and the small smiling "AP" monogram — Alexandre's two initials fused into a face — sprayed on every original piece.
Each artwork is a unique original. No prints, no editions — every background is painted live on the canvas, so no two pieces are ever the same. And every stencil Alexandre cuts by hand is retired after a small series, never mass-produced, never repeated indefinitely. A genuine acquisition for collectors looking for identity, presence, and a strong contemporary signature that stays scarce.
SHIPPING
The artwork is carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and protective plastic film, then secured in a custom-sized cardboard box for safe international transit. The signed certificate of authenticity is included inside the package.
