Fondée en 1888 sur les rives de la mer intérieure de Seto, dans la ville d’Akashi, la distillerie Eigashima appartient à la société Eigashima, l’un des plus anciens producteurs de saké (1679). En 1919, Eigashima fut la première distillerie japonaise à obtenir sa licence pour produire du whisky. La consommation de whisky était entièrement locale jusqu’en 1984. Built on the Scottish model, the distillery has been making sophisticated whiskies in small batches for more than 30 years. Apart from whiskies, Eigashima is also known for producing various types of liquors, namely sake and shochu. The company has even started to grow vines and makes its own wine. Note I Rich – smoky & almond Palate I Well-balanced – peach & toffee Drink neat, with ice or in a cocktail Akashi Blend is the main creation from the Eigashima distillery. This whisky contains 30% of malted barley and is aged 3 years in American oak casks. Rich and well-balanced, Akashi Blend won the gold medal at the 2016 International spirits ChallengeSmoky.
