Handthrown porcelain bowl on foot by Roger Cockram (b. 1947), United Kingdom. Beautifully glazed and with a painted decor of a fish. Diameter 19 cm and height 7 cm. In excellent condition. Signed with two seals (workshop and artist rjc). Biography Originally born in North Devon, Roger Cockram left for education and career. He first worked as a scientist and teacher before changing direction and attending Harrow School of Art. Early work consisted of kitchen wares, all made in wood fired stoneware but after 10 years he rediscovered his fascination for ‘natural’ water and that has been a major interest ever since. A Fellow of the Craft Potters Association of Great Britain; and some years ago was invited to become an Academician of the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts. In 2001 he was invited to become a national External Examiner in Higher Education for Art and Design. Roger Cockram has, for many years, been invited to lecture and demonstrate his work to arts associations and colleges throughout the U.K. and overseas. Roger's work is found in several private and public collections – both in the UK and around the world, currently including the Netherlands, Canada, Germany, Israel, Palestine, Hawaï, U.S.A. Biography
Originally born in North Devon, Roger Cockram left for education and career. He first worked as a scientist and teacher before changing direction and attending Harrow School of Art.
