Rare and highly collectible early Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon, dumped on November 14, 1989 from Barrel # (partially visible) in Rick No. 9, Warehouse H. This is an original 1989 bottling of the first modern single barrel bourbon, produced by Blanton Distilling Company (now Buffalo Trace) at 93 Proof (46.5% ABV).
The iconic faceted bottle features the famous bronze horse & jockey stopper (in excellent condition), original paper neck label, and the classic handwritten-style main label detailing the exact dump date, warehouse, and “Individually selected, filtered and bottled by hand”. The bourbon has a deep, rich amber-red colour with strong fill level.
Blanton’s from the late 1980s are prized by collectors for their historical significance and superior maturity compared to many modern expressions. This bottle is a true piece of bourbon history — the pioneer of the single barrel category.
