No further information concerning the earlier ownership history of the objects was available from the previous owner. Background Information: This pair of bronze finger rings dates to the medieval Crusader period and represents practical examples of personal jewellery worn between the 11th and 14th centuries. Both rings feature simple integral bezels, one plain oval and the other decorated with a pair of incised vertical lines. Such understated geometric decoration is characteristic of many medieval rings intended for everyday wear. Bronze finger rings of this type were commonly worn by both men and women throughout the Crusader States and the wider medieval Mediterranean.
